Petit Ermitage West Hollywood is an ideal base for the start of a Californian adventure.

As James at the frontdesk will tell you upon arrival, the rooftop is ‘legit’.

He is quite correct. Located in the middle of the WeHo scene, the rooftop is a bohemian oasis with a stunning pool, fire pit and restaurant.

The views of Hollywood on a clear day are beautiful. The rooftop garden has even been designed as a hummingbird sanctuary.

You can relax by the pool, or on the many day beds and chairs scattered around the rooftop gardens. This is particularly appreciated after a long flight from Australia. The staff will happily let you relax in the sun on the roof well before check-in.

Archer relaxing rooftop style. How does she look like this after a flight? Her addiction to SKII masks is paying off!

Archer relaxing rooftop style. Can’t believe she looks like this after a 14 hour flight. Her addiction to SKII masks appears to be paying off!

Another plus is that most rooms feature a kitchenette. Ours was a Junior Suite, with a Queen sized sofa bed and could accommodate up to 3 people. These rooms also feature small balconies with nice views of the surrounding Hollywood streets.

Most West Hollywood hotels are on the pricey side. This hotel is good value for money for what is a unique property in a good location.

Trip Notes:

Petit Ermitage is located at 8822 Cynthia Street, West Hollywood, CA.

This is about a 45 minute drive from LAX, in traffic.

We had a nice dinner at the rooftop restaurant. The Mediterranean platter was good for a group to share. The one time we had breakfast at the hotel it was a little less impressive, but it is hard to impress Aussies with breakfast as we have such a strong breakfast game back home.

Street parking in this area is impossible without a permit. Valet is a must so this will add some $$$ to your trip.
