Right now our love for Queenstown knows no bounds.
It’s natural beauty and endless list of excellent-outdoor-pursuits make it one hell of a town.
And it’s got some pretty great dining options. Here are the ones from our QT trips that we think you shouldn’t miss.
Best breakfast spot – Bespoke Kitchen
Get your day off to a great start with brekky at Bespoke.
Order a side of kumara with your eggs (as in the main picture) it’s a mix of crunchy, almost caramalised sweet potato that comes with brussel sprouts and is delicious.
Their cabinet is full of great things, perfect for picking up some lunch to take up to the ski-fields. Lots of raw treats here too.
You’ll find Bespoke up on the hill, as if you’re walking up to take a ride on the Gondola. Much like Beth here –
Best Apres Ski – Eichardts
Need somewhere to warm up after the slopes? Make it Eichardts.
Originally a woolshed before becoming the first hotel in town in the gold rush era, it’s now a stunning boutique hotel.
Perfect for a few cocktails and tapas in front of the fire.
They do get pretty busy (and some tables are reserved for hotel guests only), so if you can’t get a table just head around the corner to their sister bar, No.5 Church Lane.
Dinner with friends – Tanoshi Teppan & Sake Bar
Currently No.1 on Tripadvisor and for good reason – this place is fantastic.
Sit at the bar, order some sake and take your pick from a great list of small share dishes.
Here’s the sashimi and rib eye –
Must do – Fergburger
YES. Get a Fergburger. It’s practically mandatory.
But don’t wait in line with the other thousand people who also want a Fergburger.
Here’s the number, so you can call ahead – 64 3 441 1232. Then you can just sashay down there and up to the window and collect. the. goods.
Fergburgers definitely taste better when eaten lake-side.
Best Italian – Bella Cucina
Sometimes in life you gotta get yourself some Italian food. When that moment strikes – head to Bella Cucina.
You know how sometimes when you’re away you just need some greens?? Bella Cucina’s do not disappoint.
Along with salmon, they also do a fantastic spaghetti bolognaise.
And when you think about it, you’ve been skiing all day, so you’ve already worked off all of the carbs (just go with me on that one, OK?).
Best snack/ light meal – Taco Medic
Head to Taco Medic for amazing, fresh, delicious tacos.
These guys currently have a van on the road back to town from the ski fields at Coronet Peak which is quite the genius idea. They’re also set up in Searle Lane in QT itself.
Special occasion dinner – Jervois Steakhouse
And finally, if you’ve got something to celebrate while in QT head to Jervois Steakhouse located in our happy place – the Sofitel, in the middle of town.
It’s a little bit fancy and a whole lot of delicious.
